Expected to be launched soon
No mechanical changes expected
A special version of the Mahindra Scorpio N dubbed the Edition One has been spied at a dealer yard ahead of an expected festival season debut. This will be the second major update for the Scorpio N in just under 3 months and sees it get a new grille, interiors and some badging as a part of the deal.
On the outside, we can see a new design for the grille along the lines of what we saw on the recently unveiled Lifestyler pickup truck. The other big external change for this vehicle is Edition One badging on the D-pillars. Inside, Mahindra has fitted the SUV with dual-tone dark red-over-black interiors. This appears to be an upgrade from the brown and black colour scheme of the current model.
The visuals also suggest that it is based on a higher-spec trim of the vehicle, which means things like climate control, dual digital screens, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, wireless chargers, ventilated front seats and power function for the driver’s seat.
We expect no mechanical upgrades and this means the 2.2-litre and 2.0-litre petrol are both offered with a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT. Mahindra offers 4X4 technology for the lower-spec Z4 variant and then directly on the Z8 and Z8T variants, but it's unclear if this will get a 4WD variant.
In terms of pricing, the special edition could cost up to Rs. one lakh over the equivalent standard trim and is likely to be a limited production run as has been the case with most of the other Mahindra special editions.
