Gets new bumpers, black alloy wheels, and a lip spoiler
1.0-litre TSI petrol engine likely to get a new eight-speed automatic gearbox
Volkswagen India has fully revealed the exterior of the Virtus facelift, a day after releasing a teaser video. The launch is slated for December, and the feature list and cabin will be shown in the coming days.
As with the Skoda Slavia's recent update, the focus is on a light exterior refresh. The Virtus is the Slavia's cousin, and the changes follow the same approach. The front bumper has a new mesh design and smaller fog lamp housings. The headlamp clusters look unchanged and continue to get integrated LED DRLs.
The images show the top-spec GT variant. It gets new black alloy wheels with red brake calipers at the front, GT badging on the grille and front doors, 360-degree camera, and a new shade of blue. A dual-tone paint scheme is also visible, with the ORVMs, lip spoiler and roof finished in black. At the back, the tail lamps are smoked, the bumper is different, and a lip spoiler sits on the boot. The air conditioner compressor is also expected to be revised, and a cabin update with new features should follow.
Volkswagen has not shared mechanical details. Like the Slavia, the Virtus is expected to offer the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol is expected to continue with the DSG gearbox.
