The row began after the release of the song 'Tu Mil Jaaye' from the film, which features Deepika wearing an orange dress while dancing with Shah Rukh Khan.

BJP MLA from Delhi’s Patparganj, Ravi Negi, has threatened a nationwide boycott of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King‘ unless a scene featuring Deepika Padukone in an orange outfit is removed.

The controversy began after the release of the song ‘Tu Mil Jaaye‘ from the film, which features Deepika wearing an orange dress while dancing with Shah Rukh Khan.

“If Shah Rukh Khan does not remove the bhagwa scene, we will call for a nationwide boycott of King," Negi said.

According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the BJP legislator, speaking to Dainik Samachar, also called Khan a “Jihadi" and accused him of earning money in India while bringing disrepute to the country.

“SRK and all these Jihadi people in this country, they earn money from the country and defame it, and they have a problem with saffron," he said, adding that Deepika was being used as a pawn.

“Deepika Padukone is just a pawn. These Jihadis are behind this. I will call Shah Rukh Khan a Jihadi. In the Sanatan that we believe in, they wear such clothes and dance indecently," Negi added.

Negi Recalls ‘Pathaan’ Controversy

Negi also compared the latest row to the controversy surrounding Deepika’s orange bikini in Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film ‘Pathaan‘.

He said Hindu organisations had protested against the outfit at the time and warned that similar protests could take place over the song from ‘King‘.

“We warn Shah Rukh Khan that if this scene is not changed, there will be protests across the country, and no one will tolerate anything against Sanatan Dharma," he said.

The MLA also claimed that the scene was part of a planned conspiracy to hurt religious sentiments.

Negi Refers Dia Mirza Diwali Campaign Row

Negi also referred to actor Dia Mirza’s recent controversy over a pollution-free Diwali campaign by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The civic body had removed a video featuring Mirza after objections from BJP leaders, sparking a political row.

Questioning her campaign, Negi said, “This is a well-planned conspiracy. It’s a conspiracy by these people, just like Dia Mirza said not to burst firecrackers on Diwali."

He also questioned why concerns over pollution were raised during Diwali but, according to him, not during Eid celebrations. “Where does their wisdom go when goats and sheep are openly sacrificed on Eid, and pieces of their meat fall in the streets?"

Negi further demanded that the scene featuring Deepika be removed, warning that he would otherwise oppose the film.
