BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari shared a video of Congress leader Irfan Ansari warning that India's situation could become worse than Bangladesh and Nepal.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Thursday took a swipe at the Congress and shared a video of party leader Irfan Ansari saying India’s condition could become worse than Bangladesh and Nepal.

In the video, Ansari can be heard speaking about the country’s political and economic situation, claiming that several sections of society, including farmers, the middle class, Dalits, Adivasis and Muslims, were facing difficulties. He also questioned the government’s approach towards the public.

“The country is on the verge of collapse. I had gone to Delhi, where I met students," Ansari said in the video.

Referring to the number of young people who, according to him, were ready to take to the streets, Ansari said, “When 4 million young people are out on the streets, all it takes is one order. Rahul Gandhi has been holding these young people back."

He further challenged the authorities over the possibility of deploying security personnel to control such a gathering. “Four million young people… How many troops will you deploy? Will the army be able to stop our students?" he asked.

Ansari also warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the possible consequences of the prevailing situation. “Our country’s situation will become worse than Bangladesh’s, remember that. Our country’s situation will become worse than Nepal’s too, mark my words," he said.

The Congress leader also raised the issue of Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation and questioned Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged deletions from electoral rolls.

“What is the demand? Gyanesh Kumar, tell us, you are deleting the names of 13 crore voters. Do you know how many 13 crore is?" Ansari said.

Reacting to the video, Bhandari accused the Congress of encouraging unrest. Sharing the clip on X, he wrote, “OPEN CALL FOR ANARCHY BY CONGRESS MINISTER Irfan Ansari."

He also quoted Ansari’s remarks about India’s condition becoming worse than Bangladesh and described the video as the “Biggest proof of Anarchy Toolkit of Rahul Gandhi & Congress!"

The remarks come amid a continuing confrontation between the Opposition and the Election Commission over the revision of electoral rolls and allegations of irregularities in the process.

Opposition parties have been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise has led to large-scale deletion of voters’ names. The INDIA bloc reiterated its demand at a rally in Delhi on November 1, while also seeking action on the disputed voter-roll revisions.

The Election Commission and the government have maintained that the exercise is intended to update electoral rolls and remove duplicate or ineligible entries.
