Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are discussing a trade that could involve three or four players. Cricbuzz understands that the RR management is keen to acquire a pacer who enjoyed a successful stint with LSG last season and is likely to be headed to Jaipur from Lucknow.

A spinner from LSG could also be part of the deal being discussed between the two franchises, but at this stage, the trade has been agreed upon in principle, with names being kept under wraps. Given that batting was their weak link last season, LSG, it is understood, are willing to spare one of their bowlers, as bowling, particularly fast bowling, was their strength.

RR, of course, have many batters and all-rounders at their disposal. They seem inclined to spare one or two of them: a batter and an all-rounder, or one of the two. It is understood that the finishing touches are being given to the deal, which is expected to be announced soon.

LSG had a formidable pace battery of Prince Yadav, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Anrich Nortje, Akash Singh and Arjun Tendulkar spearheaded by the indomitable Mohammed Shami. However, their batting was not as formidable to compliment the riches in the fast bowling department and it resulted in the team finishing at the bottom of the points table. LSG pacers were seventh in averages among the 10 teams but in terms of the economy rate, they were on top. In contrast, LSG batters had the worst average and lowest strike rate among all the teams.

There is a possibility that multiple players are involved in the discussed trade with more than two players going from at least one side. An all-rounder’s name is also being talked about as a bowler for a batter is the most likely swap that could emerge from the talks.
