What's new in Minecraft 26.70.23 beta and preview

Calcite block sets

The headline addition is a much larger Calcite family. Regular Calcite gains stairs, slabs, and walls, while Polished Calcite and Polished Calcite Bricks each get their own full block sets. There's also a new Calcite Pillar block. Mojang describes the marble-like pale look as ideal for winter builds, and all of them count as decorative building blocks.

"Flurry" music disc

A new disc featuring the song "flurry" by composer Hyper Potions has been added. It has a 30% chance of appearing in Igloo chests, so basement hunting is back on the agenda.

Hidden decorative block

Mojang also quietly added a new decorative block to the game "somewhere." There's no hint as to where, so expect the community to start digging.

Swap items between hands

You can now swap items between your main hand and off-hand. On keyboard and mouse, the default key is F. On controller, the Crafting button now swaps items instead of opening your inventory. Mojang lists a known issue: items that can currently go in the off-hand slot aren't swappable with the keybind yet. This was all you needed to know about downloading Minecraft 26.70.23 beta and preview.
