World of Warcraft: Forever is now live. The game introduces a reimagined Azeroth, expanding the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor with more than 1,000 new quests from level 1 to 60. Designed as a permanent experience alongside modern and Classic World of Warcraft, it adds new zones, character options and progression systems. Players can create a character from the new Skyborne race, explore nine new five-player dungeons and choose between Classic and Enhanced presentation settings. Traditional realm selection gives way to rulesets based on preferred playstyles. Three raids are scheduled to open on December 9, while a Hardcore ruleset will follow sometime after launch.

Which zones and character options are new in World of Warcraft Forever

New destinations include Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle. Mount Hyjal explores the aftermath of Archimonde’s defeat, while Shen’dralas introduces a region between Mulgore and Desolace. The Riverglades includes more than 150 quests, largely covering the mid-30s to mid-40s levels. Zephras Isle provides the level 1–12 starting experience for the Skyborne. Players choosing the new race can join the Horde as Windshapers, who can become Shaman, or the Alliance as High-Order Skyborne, who can become Mages. Other race-and-class combinations include Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests and Dwarf Shamans.

How do presentation settings and rulesets work in World of Warcraft Forever

The Classic preset uses standard-definition character models, a traditional interface and fewer guidance features by default. Enhanced enables higher-definition models, quest markers and additional interface conveniences. You can change individual settings later, and model choices affect appearance, not abilities or progression. Instead of choosing a traditional realm, players select Normal, player-versus-player, Roleplay or Roleplay PvP rules. These determine whether opposing players can attack freely and whether roleplaying conventions apply. Characters also receive two-part names, and each full combination is unique within a region.

What are the Camping and Legacy systems in World of Warcraft Forever

Camping turns the Cooking profession’s Basic Campfire into a shared campsite. Nearby players can contribute up to three crafted Camp Features, with one contribution per player. Sitting or crafting there for at least one minute grants benefits from those features. The account-wide Legacy System adds challenges, perks and rewards centered on exploring different activities. Although it encourages players to try additional characters and professions, players can unlock all character advantages on one character. Gamepad support includes refinements to targeting, spellcasting, looting and menu navigation.

What is coming for dungeon, raid and PvP players

Nine new five-player dungeons cover levels 13–60. On December 9, level 60 players can enter Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair. The Darkspear Islands add a 15-versus-15 battleground where teams compete over strategic positions and a central flag. Discord account linking and guild chat mirroring also allow players to exchange messages between Discord and in-game guild chat.
