Defending champion India will look to secure a record-extending sixth Men’s Asian Champions Trophy title when it takes on Japan in the final in Mohali on Thursday. Craig Fulton’s side has been unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning all five league matches before registering an emphatic 8-1 victory over South Korea in Wednesday’s semifinal.
Japan, meanwhile, advanced to the title clash after defeating Malaysia 5-3 in a shootout following a goalless draw in the other semifinal. The two sides met during the league stage on October 30, when India secured a 4-1 victory in Jalandhar.
