PM Narendra Modi made a phone call to Sharad Pawar to inquire about his health condition

PUNE: PM Narendra Modi Wednesday requested NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar, 85, who was discharged from a private hospital, to focus on his health, saying his daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule would take care of the country along with him. “PM Modi called up Pawar saheb this morning to enquire about his health. He spoke with great warmth and respect and suggested that Pawar saheb should take complete rest,” Vitthal Maniyar, a close associate of Sharad Pawar, told the media. Maniyar said Modi urged Pawar not to worry about work and to focus on his recovery. “PM told Pawar saheb that Supriya is ready and that he, along with Supriya, will look after the country, while Pawar saheb should focus on his health,” Maniyar said. Pawar thanked the PM for enquiring about his health and assured him that he would take rest. Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday morning after complaining of pleuritic pain. After undergoing treatment for two days, he was discharged on Wednesday. In a statement, Dr Purvez K Grant, managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, said, “He is stable and doing well. He will be travelling from the hospital to his Mumbai residence.”
