Srinagar, Nov 7: PDP leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Para on Saturday expressed grave concern over the age limit set by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited in its recent job notification, and demanded the increase in upper age limit, besides revocation of reservation norms in the job recruitment process.
Calling the age limit of 20 to 30 years as “completely unfair”, the MLA Pulwama said why J&K Bank aspirants are being penalized when JKSSB (Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board) allows an age limit to 40 years.
Taking to micro-blogging site X, Para said: “Deeply concerning to see the latest JK Bank notification for PO & Banking Associate posts. Keeping the age limit at 20-30 years is completely unfair to thousands of overaged aspirants who have been waiting patiently for years.
When JKSSB allows an age limit up to 40 years, why are JK Bank aspirants being penalized? Furthermore, applying reservation policies in a commercial institution like JK Bank undermines meritocracy for our local youth”.
Para said that demands are simple: “Increase the upper age limit to 40 years. Revoke reservation in the recruitment. Give our educated youth a fair & equal chance!”.
