Positioned as the second-highest variant, the F 450 GS Sport gets all features except ERC (Easy Ride Clutch)

At the time of its launch in India, the BMW F 450 GS was offered in three variants – Base, Exclusive and GS Trophy. BMW has now introduced a new Sport variant, positioned just below the top-spec GS Trophy variant. Priced at Rs 5.90 lakh, the new F 450 GS Sport variant is Rs 35,000 costlier than the Exclusive variant and Rs 25,000 more affordable than the GS Trophy variant. BMW has also expanded the broader 450 lineup with the F 450 R roadster and the F 450 RR faired versions.

F 450 GS Sport – Key features

BMW is offering the F 450 GS Sport variant in an exclusive Racing Red colour option. This colourway predominantly combines shades of dark red and black, along with white and grey. With this new colour, the bike is now available with three colour options. The base and Exclusive variants are available in Cosmic Black colour. The GS Trophy variant is available in Racing Blue Metallic colour.

F 450 GS Sport is essentially the GS Trophy, without the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which is available exclusively with the GS Trophy variant. Among enthusiasts planning to buy the BMW F 450 GS, the priorities can be broadly classified into ‘with ERC’ and ‘without ERC’. For the latter group, the new Sport variant ensures that all other features are accessible including the adjustable suspension.

Sport variant’s Racing Red paintwork creates an exciting contrast and complements the bike’s sporty profile. Sharp design elements of the bike are better accentuated with this new colourway. The red shade is used largely across the front cowl, fuel tank and rear side panels. Rest of the surfaces are mostly black. The Sport variant also has distinctive graphics, combining themes in white and black.

This paintwork also does a good job at accommodating the gold-finished USD forks. Coming to equipment, the new Sport variant of BMW F 450 GS has sport suspension, Gear Shift Assistant Pro, offroad footrests, clear windshield and hand protection. The Sport variant also has Riding Modes Pro (+Enduro Pro). As is evident, the Sport variant has most of the features available with the top-spec GS Trophy variant.
